North Star Community Grant Supports Thornaby Activity Group

Published by Alison Watson-Shields on

We are delighted to have the opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to North Star Community Grants Fund for their generous donation towards subsidising the cost of delivering our dementia activity group and care partner support group which meets every Tuesday afternoon at the LiveWell Hub in Thornaby.

The dementia activity group is designed to support people living with dementia and their families by offering a range of activities and services to improve their quality of life. Our activity group is a key part of our program, and it provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals with dementia to engage in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being.

Our care partner support group offers an opportunity for care partners to share their experiences and knowledge of caring for someone living with dementia. It is a chance to speak with others who are in a similar situation in a frank and honest manner and get answers to some of the most difficult to ask questions.

The cost of running such a program can be significant, and without the support of generous donations like North Star Housing’s Community Grants Fund, our ability to offer this vital service to the community would be limited. Their donation will help to cover the costs of facilitating engaging activities that promote cognitive stimulation and social interaction.

We are deeply grateful to North Star Housing’s Community Grants Fund, whose generosity will make a tangible difference in the lives of those who attend our activity group, and it will help us continue to provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters community and social engagement.

We look forward to continuing to work together to make a positive impact on the lives of people living with dementia in our community.
