We had a busy morning today at Young At Heart. After we had signed everybody in and completed our orientation exercises we started with our Wimbledon theme. Participants had the opportunity to have a second breakfast in the form of strawberries and cream or ice cream. While enjoying their snacks they were given a 10 question Wimbledon-themed quiz to complete and were asked to see how many words they could make from the letters that spell Wimbledon.

About half way through the session the theme switched to football, as the group had taken part in a UEFA Euro Championship sweepstake. We chatted about last nights final between France and Portugal, before completing a 15 question quiz about the Euro Championship.

Before the end of the session we handed out the winning envelopes. Well done to Billy and Charles, whose teams made it to the semi-finals; Margie, who was a finalist; and Jeff, whose team raised the trophy last night in France.

Our friend, Debbie, from Volunteering Matters visited the group to talk about an Afternoon Tea event she is hosting in October.

Our theme for next week is physical activity, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
