Community Connector Volunteer
Help us spread the word and connect people with life-changing support.
As a Community Connector Volunteer, you’ll be a vital link between Young at Heart ULO CIC and the wider community. You’ll help raise awareness of our services, share information in local spaces, and ensure that those who may not access support online still hear about what we offer.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys chatting with people, knows their local area well, and wants to make a meaningful difference through outreach and connection.
What You’ll Do
- Distribute posters, flyers and leaflets to key community locations (e.g. pharmacies, libraries, churches, GP practices)
- Promote awareness of our dementia support services and activity groups
- Identify and suggest new locations or organisations we can connect with
- Engage in friendly conversations with community members to help spread the word
- Feed back any enquiries or ideas to our team
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who is confident and friendly when speaking to new people
- A good knowledge of the local area
- Someone who enjoys being out and about and has a keen eye for connection opportunities
- Reliable and committed to sharing accurate information

Events & Fundraising Support Volunteer
Help us create events that raise funds, share joy, and bring people together.
As an Events & Fundraising Support Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in helping Young at Heart ULO CIC organise and run local events and fundraising activities. From tombolas and tea parties to raffles and community fairs, your support will help us reach more people and continue delivering meaningful services.
This role is perfect for someone organised, creative, and happy to muck in where needed.
What You’ll Do
- Help with the planning and preparation of events and fundraising activities
- Assist with setup, welcome, and practical tasks during events
- Collect raffle prizes or promote activities in the lead-up to an event
- Chat with attendees and help create a warm, inclusive atmosphere
- Support the team with basic admin tasks or follow-up if needed
What We’re Looking For

- Someone who is organised and willing to roll up their sleeves
- Comfortable working as part of a team or independently
- Available on an occasional basis to support events as needed

Digital Media Support Volunteer
Support our voice online and help us connect with the community.
As a Digital Media Support Volunteer, you’ll help Young at Heart ULO CIC maintain a vibrant and engaging online presence. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in social media, writing, design, or digital communications who wants to build their skills while supporting a good cause.
It’s a flexible, remote-friendly role with creative freedom and meaningful impact.
What You’ll Do
- Help draft and schedule social media posts
- Support blog editing or newsletter formatting
- Create graphics or visual content using templates
- Update web content (with guidance) or suggest content ideas
- Track engagement and suggest ways to improve visibility
What We’re Looking For
- Someone with a creative flair and eye for detail
- Familiarity with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or Canva
- A clear communicator who understands the importance of tone
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with guidance

Activity Resource Volunteer (Remote or On-site)
Help us create meaningful activity resources for people living with dementia.
As an Activity Resource Volunteer, you’ll support the design and preparation of engaging materials for use in our dementia activity groups. These could be creative, sensory, or memory-based resources – anything that supports inclusion, stimulation, and joy.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys arts, crafts, puzzles or design and wants to support others in a behind-the-scenes way.
What You’ll Do
- Help create and prepare resources like quizzes, reminiscence packs, puzzles, craft kits or conversation cards
- Print, cut, laminate, and organise materials (at home or with the team)
- Suggest or help plan themed activities
- Assist in creating carer take-home packs with meaningful engagement ideas
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who enjoys being creative and methodical
- A good eye for detail and presentation
- Comfortable working independently (remotely or alongside the team)
- An interest in dementia-friendly communication and design
