Blog Content Creator (Remote Role)

Help us share stories, insights, and information that matter to people living with dementia and their carers.

Do you enjoy writing? Are you passionate about sharing useful information in a clear, thoughtful, and creative way? As a Blog Content Creator for Young at Heart ULO CIC, you’ll help us grow our online presence and provide valuable content for our readers – many of whom are people living with dementia, their carers, and community professionals.

This is a flexible, remote role that’s ideal for someone who wants to develop their writing voice while making a meaningful difference.

What You’ll Do

  • Create informative, accessible blog posts on topics related to dementia, caring, mental health, or community life
  • Explore subjects that are important to you or based on conversations from our carer support groups
  • Write one post per month (more if you’d like!)
  • Collaborate with our team to help shape the tone and direction of our blog
  • Help amplify the voices of those with lived experience through thoughtful, respectful content

You can write about:

  • The latest research or news stories related to dementia
  • Local services, opportunities, or events
  • Practical tips or reflections for carers
  • Personal or creative responses (poetry, storytelling, etc.)

We’re open to new ideas – we want this role to work for you as much as it works for us. If you do need inspiration, we have a list of topics taken from conversations we have had that you can tackle.

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who enjoys writing and wants to develop their own style
  • An interest in dementia, caring, ageing, or community support
  • The ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and respectfully
  • Someone who is self-motivated and can work independently

This role would suit students, aspiring writers, retired professionals, or anyone with lived or professional experience who wants to share helpful and hopeful content with others.

What You’ll Gain

  • A platform to develop your writing voice and creative confidence
  • Opportunities to contribute to meaningful conversations on dementia and caring
  • Real-world writing experience for your portfolio or CV
  • A sense of purpose through supporting and educating others
  • Encouragement, guidance, and collaborative support from our team

You’ll also have the satisfaction of seeing your work shared through our website, newsletter, and social media channels, reaching a caring, engaged audience.

How It Works

This is a remote, flexible role. We suggest aiming for one blog post per month, but there’s no pressure – we’ll work with you to find a pace and process that suits your availability and interests.

We welcome contributors of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. You don’t need to be an expert in dementia – just someone who’s open to learning, listening, and writing with care.
