Help us bring joy, connection, and stimulation to people living with dementia.
As a Dementia Activity Group Volunteer with Young at Heart ULO CIC, you’ll be part of a warm, welcoming team supporting older people at various stages of dementia to take part in meaningful activities designed to uplift and engage.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys spending time with others, has a kind and patient nature, and wants to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.

- Help deliver or lead themed activities (if you feel confident doing so)
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for individuals who may need more encouragement
- Work as part of a team to create a positive, inclusive atmosphere
Our groups follow a structure inspired by Cognitive Stimulation Therapy – a proven approach that promotes memory, communication, and wellbeing through conversation and creative engagement.

- Good communication and listening skills
- Reliability and willingness to commit to regular attendance
- Sensitivity to the needs of those living with dementia

- A deeper understanding of dementia and the realities of caregiving
- Hands-on experience working with people in a community setting
- Confidence in leading or supporting group activities
- A sense of fulfilment knowing you’ve made a real difference
You’ll leave each session knowing that your time, presence, and kindness have helped someone feel included, valued, and uplifted.
