Week commencing 13th May

This week Billingham and Thornaby groups theme was ‘numbers’.

The groups were split into two teams, with our volunteers support, they worked together to answer quiz questions about sport, history, general knowledge and some mathematical challenges.

Thursdays Egglescliffe group, the discussion and quiz was food related.  We discussed the changes in food tastes, family diets and mealtimes, the use of convenience foods and baking days.

Week commencing 20th May.

Monday Billingham was Circus Skills week, more fun with plate spinning, juggling and the Diablo.

Thursday Eaglescliffe enjoyed Pub Games of Bingo and Dominoes.

Friday Musical Memories was another joyous session of sing-a-long classics and percussion accompaniment, this weeks many songs included Queens ‘We Will Rock You’, by request Tom Jones ‘Delilah’ and In Memory of Doris Day ‘Que Sera Sera’.

Thursday this week Eaglescliffe carers moved away from the main group to start their ‘In our Shoes’ sessions which they all agreed they thoroughly enjoyed. YAH enjoyed an Indoor games session.  After orientation the group got into pairs and practiced their hand to eye co-ordination with a game of 
throw and catch, alternating from left to right hand.  The second half of the session we had a game of indoor cricket. Each member had a turn at throwing, bating and fielding, they were getting lots of physical excise with the bonus of it been great fun.  There was a lot of laughter and enjoyment into days session, the group commented on how they enjoyed the session.
