This week at Young At Heart ULO we began our preparations for the forthcoming festivities.

All three groups not only sang along to some Christmas tunes but they also made a selection of Christmas cards. There were a few options available to group members. There were some images that needed to be coloured in prior to sticking them on the front of the blank card but there was also a selection of pre-printed, coloured images that could be used for those who might struggle with colouring or preferred to finish their cards quickly so they could chat! Anne had also prepared some festive paper embellishments that could be stuck on the cover of the cards.

The Thornaby group also helped with the finishing touches to the Naval Anchor collage created for our upcoming ‘Unremembered’ World War One afternoon tea event. That is all of the artwork for the event completed. We have clay popped, clay dog tags, fabric poppies, knitted poppies, RAF100 commemorative cushions, plates and bowls, a collage anchor and silhouettes of service personnel.

Next week we will be continuing our theme of ‘festive crafts’ by creating individual calendars fro 2019.
