This week at Young At Heart ULO we continued work on our Unremembered project, remembering those who served in the Labour Corps during World War 1.

In Stockton and Billingham, the group made short work of the clay poppies that they made a few weeks ago. They painted over 100 poppies with at least two coats during their sessions and those poppies are now ready for the next stage of creation… watch this space for the next stage of our project.

In Thornaby, we had to change our plans because I left some of the important resources at home, having placed them in the wrong box! Instead of the original plan, we had half of the group making more clay poppies, making up for the breakages that had taken place that morning. The other half of the group played cards and dominoes while listening to a World War 1 music playlist.

The plan for next week is still unconfirmed, but we expect to continue with the Unremembered project provided we have all the necessary resources.
