This week at Young At Heart ULO our group members at Stockton and Thornaby were invited to take part in a practical first aid workshop delivered by the British Red Cross. Those who chose to take part were taught about how to treat everyday injuries such as burns, falls and cuts/grazes.

In Stockton, participants were also taught how to respond if someone is choking and how to administer chest compressions is someone stops breathing.

In Thornaby, the group were shown how to place someone in the recovery position if they were unconscious.

While in Billingham, the group had a musical session which involved singing along to popular party tunes, dancing and playing musical instruments.

Next week is Dementia Awareness/Action Week so our activities will involve tea and cake!
