This morning at Young At Heart ULO we met at the Centenary Pub in Norton, as the Church was not available. It was a very informal session, with no specific activities organised for the session. Instead, the group sat together chatting and putting the world to rights over hot drinks.
We announced the winner of afternoon tea for two at Remember Me Tearooms in Stockton – congratulations to Margie!
We also started selling tickets for our Easter Raffle, with two large easter food hampers up for grabs!
We would like to thank The Centenary Pub for their hospitality this morning. We look forward to using your facilities again in the future.
This afternoon, at Billingham’s Young At Heart ULO, we had a very relaxed afternoon. Our original plan was to play a word association game to explore the use and understanding of language. We were also going to create a word collage using the words that the group associated with Easter. However, after the initial orientation exercises and our welcome song, the ladies chose to write an acrostic poem together instead.
Part way through the session we were joined by someone who was interested in joining us in the future, so we chatted about what we do as a group, the kinds of activities that we offer, and praised the fantastic hospitality provided by Cafe In The Park. We hope to welcome some more new members in the future.
There is no Young At Heart ULO in Billingham next week as it is a Bank Holiday. We will return on Monday 24th April.
