This morning at Young At Heart we had a few new gentleman join us from the Cognitive Stimulation Group, so instead of taking part in activities we spent the morning getting to know each other over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. We asked everyone to tell the group a bit about themselves and to include where they are from, where they live now, their general hobbies and interests and what they would like to do with the group.

There was a general consensus that our new members are interested in walking, gardening and going to the cinema as well as being animal lovers. One member has a keen interest in geneology and would like help to investigate their family history and another would like to explore the history of the local area.

Activities that were identified that could be done with the group included participating in games such as bowls, dominoes, cards, bingo and indoor Olympics, as well as gardening and walking (weather permitting).

The group also identified their wish to take part in activities together as an extension of Young At Heart, so I will be exploring this option over the coming weeks.
