A Spotlight On: In Our Shoes

In Our Shoes is a carer peer support group for present and past carers for someone living with dementia. It is a place of friendship, a listening ear, understanding and information sharing. Find out more about the importance of carer peer support by watching this short video where two long-standing members of the In Our Shoes Dementia Carers Support Group were asked to share the reasons why they feel the support group is important to them in their own words. Please note all opinions expressed are that of the people who have expressed them and although Young At Heart ULO support and encourage the views of the carers, we adopt dementia-positive and dementia-friendly terminology and beliefs that everyone can live well with dementia. We also accept that for those providing unpaid care, the need for frank discussions without judgement of language used is very important.
